New Entry into the Aircraft Industry Based on Network Science

Network science is a research field that has grown significantly since 1998.
Mark Buchanan’s “NEXUS: Small Worlds and the Groundbreaking Science of Networks” summarizes the situation at that time in a book.

The two superstars discussed in this book are Duncan Watts, who advocated “Small World“, and Albert Laszlo Barabási, who advocated “Scale-Free“.

Both of them have published many books as well as research papers.
A few years ago, Prof. Dr. Barabási published “Network Science” which is reputed to be a classic textbook on network science (English version is available for free on the web, and you can enjoy the beautiful graphs. Japanese version is translated by the Network Society Research Group, Kyoto University.

Prof. Dr. Barabási has written not only textbooks for undergraduate and graduate students, but also several books for the general public, including “The Formula: The Universal Laws of Success” , which I will discuss in this article.

What makes this book so different from other success books is that it was discovered by a leading network scientist who approached the laws of success as a scientific study (a reproducible mechanism).
I have tried to apply this universal law of success to how to enter and succeed in the aircraft industry, represented by the Rich Club. I will explain how exactly I apply it in my next blog.
